I'm planning to buy a "Shakti Helmet" that was based on the work of Dr. Michael Persinger to simulate the near death experience and the phenomena of the "God presence".
I was wondering if anyone else had used one and also if there was anyone who would like to expeiment along with me in a sensory isolation room I will be preparing? I'm in Portland.

Re: Shakti Helmet
Thu, January 27, 2005 - 8:07 PMI've found the Shakti site and couldn't help but notice the many warnings: Use at your own risk. The web site seems to go to great lenghts to determine whether you are left handed or ambidextrous.
I found the web site to be unorganized but the information was all there (looks like he designed this in his basement at home).
This all looks fascinating and we could be looking at something of the future here.
Let us know how it works out for you.
(I actualy met Dr Persinger in my home town of Sudbury, Canada. Because of your post I located a very old friend who is part of Dr Persinger's research team. Thank you.)
