I personally own a couple of mind machines...
I have a David Paradise XL by Mind Alive (www.mindalive.ca/). I think it's a really great machine. It has quite a few programs, and is programmable or can be used manually. I use it manually to induce hypnosis in clients who ask for hypnosis work. I also use it as a meditation tool on a regular basis.
I also own a NovaDreamer from the Lucidity Institute (lucidity.com). This little toy is designed to help acheive the lucid dreaming state. I haven't used it much so far, but did get a couple of lucid dreams out of it so far. It doesn't actually create any brain state or entrain the mind. Instead, it simply makes pulsing sounds and lights in a pattern when the wearer enters rem sleep. It's worn as a mask while sleeping. Inside the dream state, the wearer hears the sounds and sees pulses of red light, and will then (hopefully) recognize this visual and auditory cue as meaning "you are dreaming."
I also toy with sound technology, and started a tribe here specifically related to that issue. See soundhealing.tribe.net
I am very interested in either building or buying a Rife/Bare machine and a Multiple Wave Oscillator. I also started a tribe to discuss these topics. See bioelectric.tribe.net

Re: my machines
Thu, January 22, 2004 - 2:19 PMI have only the Photosonix Muse#. When I first got it, I played around with several of the built-in programs (haven't ever gotten around to creating my own), but quickly settled into using the 10- and 42-minute nap programs. I've hardly used it for anything else. -

Re: my machines
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 12:57 PMI just started working with a nova pro 100 and using it in conjunction with a neurophone ( having the tones going throuogh the headphones and then through the neurophone)... kind of interesting ... no profound mystical experiences... it is realxing and it spawns creative insight...I am remebering my dreams more, having successive dreams over successive days... not too lucid though. It is not like I can control them. There is something to this technology, the proper maps just have to be charted. Most antecdotes are for single sessions 1 - 1.5 hrs or less... are there reports out there of longer sessions ... 4,5,6 hour sessions?

Re: my machines
Wed, April 28, 2004 - 4:30 PMi also own a muse # w/ both pv stivy glasses and the standard CG glasses... i mainly use the sleep programs / meditation programs.. i'm looking into purchasing a norva pro 100.. tho i think i'm going to down load the extra programs for my muse # before i go ahead and spend an extra $450 on a new model. the muse # is great for public appearances.. fits right in my pocket and isnt too bulky (like the norva pro) to have in my pocket when i'm dancing.. possibly the best trip toy ever invented... i'm a big fan of the cat nap program.. sleep w/ a wake up =)

Re: my machines
Mon, October 18, 2004 - 10:33 PMYou might be interest to know that there has been an update to the Paradise XL session editor (Version 2.2.3). This newer version allows you to add WAV sountracks to the Editor and use them in conjunction with any program you design. You can then burn it to CD, then use the Tape Talk feature.
I own a Paradise XL and I live in the same town that the builder (Dave Seiver) has his business. I check in with him every so often to see what he's up to. Some of the stuff he's developing is pretty cool and it's all based on findings he's getting from the local unversity.
Cheers!
